Literacy – read at least three books to your child each day.
Mathematics – play Simon Says. For example, say to your child, “Simon says clap your hands 5 times.” ”Simon Says take 3 steps forward.”
Language Development – ask your child to follow directions that involve two steps. For example, “Take off your coat and hang it up.” “Open your backpack and put your papers in the basket.” “Put your toys away and wash your hands.”
Learning development – sort clothes together. For example, sort socks into one pile, shirts into another pile.
Problem solving – work simple jigsaw puzzles together.
Personal information – ask your child to tell someone his/her first and last name.
Small muscle development – draw and write outside with sidewalk chalk.
Large muscle development – play toss and catch with your child using 9-12″ rubber balls.
